The Department of Neurology, Neuromuscular Division is seeking a casual Laboratory/Office Assistant to work closely with the Clinical Laboratory Manager on day-to-day laboratory and clerical operations.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the daily immuno control slide filing, organizing immuno stain patient records in folder, preparing slides for staining.
Assist with the upkeep of printer/scanner and other office equipment.
Prepare buffer solutions and change Ethanol solutions weekly.
Locate all frozen specimen associated with xenograft protocol and organize into -80 Freezer.
Enter weekly mouse weights in log book.
Manage and maintain lab supplies as needed.
Orchestrate daily mail runs from various locations in the division to and between the faculty offices on the East Baltimore Campus.
Mail will be sorted daily and distributed to the entire division.
Help prepare and sterilize surgical tools for xenograft surgery.
Label specimen collection tubes.
Manage and utilize computer equipment and tools efficiently.
Manage the discarding of office equipment and pick up from Facilities.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
High School Diploma/GED.
Some related clerical experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Microsoft Suite Applications.
