We are seeking a Senior Research Program Coordinator(Sr. RPC) who works under the direction of the Principal Investigators and the Sr. Research Program Supervisor. This role works on behalf of the will work on behalf of the sickle cell network, SiNERGe, a collaborative supported by for the HRSA Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Project (SCDTDP) centered at Johns Hopkins University. The primary goals of the program are to help improve health care services and outcomes for children, adolescents and adults in in the Northeast Region (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and West Virginia) who have sickle cell disease.
The collaborative project goal is to improve the treatment and outcomes for people living with SCD within our collaborative region by:
Increasing the number of providers treating individuals with SCD using the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Evidence-Based Management of Sickle Cell Disease Expert Panel Report;
Using telementoring and other provider support strategies to increase the number of providers administering evidence-based sickle cell care;
Developing and implementing strategies to improve access to quality care with emphasis on individual and family engagement/partnership, adolescent transitions to adult life, and care in a medical home;
Developing and implementing a central data collection strategy for the region that supports the surveillance of objectives 1-3 and appraises the state of SCD care in the Northeast Region.
The Sr. RPC will work fully remote with provided equipment (until Johns Hopkins Medicine resumes full on-site operations) with virtual participants and grant partners while adhering to the study protocol.
TheSr. RPC will primarily help in the development and maintenance of the web-based educational activities and distance learning created as part of the SiNERGe network but may support any of the collaborative's initiatives including data projects. The Sr. RPC will coordinate and facilitate information flow between faculty, distance education learners, and various education sites. Assists in the production and distribution of distance education course materials, and schedules, and facilitates delivery of academic courses to learners at remote sites. The Sr. RPC will assist in the development of online curriculum platform and curation of curriculum content.
The Sr. RPC will be responsible for providing technical support to end users (virtual learners) and site faculty, staff, and partners. He/she will also conduct surveys, perform data entry, and prepare reports as needed. The Sr. RPC will develop and distributes promotional and informational materials, and may provide direct academic/administrative training or assistance to distance education students.
The Sr. RPC will maintain the integrity of data collection and databases. Maintain collaborative relations with partners and internal JHU staff, assist in maintaining all deadlines for grant and other deliverables, assist with distance learning technology, and organize and coordinate educational presentations.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Provides administrative, technical, and operational support for the PDs, project supervisor, instructors and/or distant site coordinators; coordinates communication and information flow between sites and the university campus.
Coordinates development and publication of course offerings and schedules with faculty and departmental representatives.
Assists in the course certification and maintenance of CME/CEU and MOC credit as appropriate for the course.
Coordinates instructional course activities, which may include the logistics for distance delivery technologies, facilitates and enhances day-to-day operating relations with site coordinators, as appropriate to the position.
Coordinates the development and preparation of marketing and promotional plans and/or materials, as appropriate to the program.
Processes registration for learners at remote sites, as appropriate to the individual educational activity and administrative structure.
Provides administrative and informational support and guidance to students of distance education programs, as appropriate to the position; may serve as administrative liaison between students, faculty, and site administration, as appropriate.
Conducts surveys and feasibility studies for policy formation and improvement of services.
Assist in the development of an interventional plan, in collaboration with the PD and research program supervisor and distant learners and patients to minimize or eliminate identified barriers to healthcare and adherence.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, record keeping and feedback of information to the PD and research program supervisor.
Ensure that educational activities of the grant remain in compliance with accurate and timely documentation and record keeping.
Track and review progress of learners in educational activities.
Help evaluate outreach strategies and priorities.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned to support various ongoing activities of the collaborative.
Maintains knowledge of the study protocol and reporting requirements
Enter data in a database
Accurate completion of study-related data forms (surveys) with little supervision
Obtain informed consent from study participants
Coordinate and conduct quality assurance procedures on a regular basis
Compile and send survey results to HRSA
Help the Sr Research Supervisor and PIs complete HRSA and coordinating center progress reports
Participate in community outreach
Learn about resources for patients with sickle cell disease and refer patients
Help to improve the ways we support patients with sickle cell disease and their physicians
Gather and display QI data from the adult and pediatric emergency rooms and infusion center
Complete all necessary Johns Hopkins research training
Participate in relevant training, clinical supervision, conferences, and meetings
Attend and participate in all HRSA team meetings
Help organize oversight committee meetings

Travel for Training may be required.
