Our Austin, TX location is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to support the Neuromodulation business. In this role, you'll be responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis supporting Abbott Neuromodulation's US Chronic Pain business. Works with commercial and financial management to prepare financial plans and set performance expectations. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate concepts and techniques combined with general business knowledge to identify risks and opportunities and propose solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform complex financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools.
Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information and provide insights into business risks and opportunities
Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.
Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
Identify and implement opportunities for continued improvement and simplification of financial and business processes.
Develop and utilize sound financial processes to drive improved business performance.
Ensures appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with Corporate/Division financial policies and procedures and understanding of GAAP.
Responsible for adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs).
Provide financial support and fully support achievement of financial plans, goals and objectives.
Seek guidance and deliver proposed solutions on issues outside of normal scope.
Very organized with good interpersonal, communication, and presentations skills.
Operate with minimal supervision on projects with significant interface across functions and groups.
Balance demands of a variety of customers with potentially conflicting goals.
Meet deadlines and balance workload requirements.
Accountable for meeting critical project deliverables.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
4+ years of accounting or finance. Experience to include roles of increasing responsibility in accounting and/or finance.
Experience analyzing and interpreting data.
Previous experience planning, implementing and administering financial information and control systems.
Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
Proficient in Excel with general understanding of financial accounting systems.
Experience in manufacturing industry.
