Job Description Summary
The EHS Office supports the Wellesley College community by working with individuals and departments to comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. We provide a broad range of services in support of a safe learning, living, and working environment by providing technical support, information and training programs.
Under the direction of the Director, this position will provide support and management of the office. They will provide administrative support to the EHS team in various tasks to include database management, training records and regulatory documentation.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Note: Items listed are in no order and time spent depends on needs of the college community.
Extensive document management both computer and paper.
Upkeep of various online databases to include training and inventory management.
Coordinating meetings and training.
Prepare newsletters for the campus community.
Update the EHS website on a regular basis.
Assist in account management.
Various administrative tasks as assigned.
Successful interactions with the college community.
Prioritize tasks and projects to ensure deadlines and priorities are met. Effective management of workload on a regular basis.
This position may oversee student workers.
High School education, prefer someone with a Bachelor’s degree.
Two plus years’ experience working in a professional administrative office support position.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Able to prepare/support concise and accurate reports, permits and applications.
Exhibits good teamwork, is approachable, cooperative, and contributes to an overall positive and productive work/team environment.
Pays attention to detail, has excellent organizational skills, ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative, manage multiple diverse tasks simultaneously, work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, manage confidential information with discretion, and own and follow through on tasks; strong email management skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Professional.
This is a part time, full year, casual wage position. Working no more than 15 hours per week. Not benefits eligible.
