Our location in Alameda, CA currently has an opportunity for a Senior Procurement Specialist.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for executing against the procurement and supply management strategies created by the Supplier Account Manager and Category Managers. The Sr. Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds. This position will work on the definition and resolution of known or anticipated problems in value, quality, feasibility and specifications in the procurement of goods and services while driving cost savings and projects with our TPMs. Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction while adhering to a strict standard of business ethics and integrity. Proactively seek and lead innovative ways to improve the procurement and operations processes, and customer service levels. Considered an SME across different categories with our TPMs. Strong understanding of category strategies and work on long-term projects that impact the Division's performance. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Act as a lead, coordinating work but may not be a supervisor.
First line responder, pivots between strategy and operations. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Execute against larger strategies and work in the guidance of SAM and category leaders.
Researches and evaluates TPMs. Performs value analysis on costs and supplier quotes.
Recommends process improvements to streamline for efficiencies.
Analyzes complex problems and delivers solutions.
Support PO conversion - non transactional and decisive negotiations.
Support Ops issues and invoice error resolution.
Solves complex problems.
PO change management and evaluate the cause for change.
Drive value and lead savings projects and outcomes.
Collaboration with other functions.
Provides advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
Communicate and educate appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting documentation for purchases.
Develop and leads agreed procurement strategies.
Seek, develop and establish business relationships with TPMs. Meet regularly with divisional customers and lead functions to ensure superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement for efficiencies.
Executes against the goals set by the SAM / Category Managers / Directors.
Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or Finance. 4-6 years of or procurement experience. Project management skills. Excellent people skills, Excellent problem solving skills and proficient in the use of spreadsheet programs. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
CPM certification desired.
