WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Senior Manager position will develop actionable business insights, implications, and strategic recommendations from analysis of primary and secondary market research to align with business objectives to improve market growth and profitability as part of the Core Diagnostics Geo-Strategy team. The position will also work on the development and execution of strategic initiatives in support of the Core Diagnostics commercial business.
Leads developing and execution of strategic planning for the commercial business Geo-Strategy that includes market trends, unmet and emergent needs of customers, competitive intelligence, and go-to market strategies.
Design research, implement it and derives actionable information and insight that result in competitive advantages.
Works in a consultative role, with Executive Management.
Work will require successful integration of analysis results, that leverage across relevant functions including Area Commercial Management, Global Commercial Excellence, Finance and marketing functions.
The position requires working with internal constituencies and external agencies.
Manage P&L responsibilities for strategic program execution and development.
Provide inputs to planning process and developing scenario planning analysis of different strategic initiatives
Develop and manage relationships with key vendors and external consulting teams.
Build and develop high performing Business Analytics team.
Work with non-commercial leadership (Operations/R&D) to develop strategic programs and complete risk assessments.
Negotiate for necessary funding and cross functional resource needs.
This position is responsible to help develop new commercial business strategies in the Emerging Markets and leading the execution of the specific action items. This role will set the strategy to follow to grow our emerging markets business by 20% CAGR and meeting the LRP objectives.
Needs to achieve alignment and involvement from the respective commercial operations groups (Area and Country) to achieve strategic objectives.
Emerging markets include: China, Brazil, Russia, India, Turkey, Vietnam, and Korea.
Responsible to help develop and lead growth strategies that will maximize Core Diagnostics impact as the leading IVD company in the Emerging Markets by the end of the LRP.
Lead Core Diagnostics Geo-Strategy based on current opportunities to maximize P&L impact for the global business. The specific geographic focus and opportunities will shift based on the business needs and macro-economic environment.
Manages strategies for growth that may involve additional investment in commercial or non-commercial resources, new products to meet specific market needs and business development activities to achieve objectives.
Works across the organization to indirectly manage commercial, operational, business development, and product development in order to achieve objectives.
Position will be based in the US, extensive travel to and from the listed markets will be involved.
Support and develop a global distributor program to support the Area Commercial teams in maximizing potential through the distribution channel.
Leads the market development strategies and initiatives for Core Diagnostics products in emerging markets.
Ensures strategies and initiatives are implemented as agreed upon with senior management team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelors degree in business or a technical discipline.
The position requires an understanding of both the technology and capabilities of our products, the Abbott Diagnostic Division organization and how the functional areas work together, as well as the needs of the customers we serve worldwide.
Must have established a successful track record of innovative results in a variety of market situations and be able to work in matrix organization to drive change and gain alignment among diverse groups in both direct and non-direct reporting functions world wide.
MBA is desired, as is previous experience in sales, marketing or R&D.
Ideally, the individual will have 2 or more years experience in Strategic Market development.
