Our location in Illinois or Texas, currently has an opportunity for an IT Program Manager. Abbott Commercial Delivery Solutions is recruiting an IT Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of for the planning, execution, implementation, and overall delivery of key Commercial initiatives for Abbott's Medical Device business.
The Program Manager owns the successful delivery and operation of commercial solutions that include integrations, security, configuration, and custom development. The position will lead project planning and execution teams to deliver complex cloud-based solutions using Salesforce.com and related technologies.
These solutions enable the Commercial operation and performance of the Medical Device business and are critical to the long-term growth objectives of the company.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Core Job Responsibilities:
Manage relationships with global stakeholders. Understand business processes for teams around the world and demonstrate the ability to identify their needs and design customer-obsessed tools to meet those needs.
Build globally aligned processes and encourage disparate teams to collaborate. Drive global adoption.
Drive all aspects of program and project management including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure.
Create and manage scope and plans for large-scale, global projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with divisional Business Relationship Managers and Business Stakeholders to managed demand and plan future delivery projects.
Provide support for Project Capital spending requests including delivery estimates.
Assist in continuing to develop and implement standard project management process methods and provide training of these methods to ensure uniform delivery practices.
Provide project management consultation and mentorship of the various project phases and the deliverables such as: development and execution of the project schedules; baselines; analyzing critical paths; schedule management; resource planning; risk/issue identification and control; project change requests; weekly and monthly status reporting.
Support Abbott-IT Portfolio Management processes leveraging the Power steering portfolio tool.
Facilitate project governance by leading steering committee meetings and related leadership meetings as appropriate to ensure program success.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Oversee the project risk/issue management processes.
Provide metrics and reports to stakeholders and leadership regarding program/project progress and performance to plans.
Build and maintain accurate staffing plans and resource capacity forecasts
Manage project financials and required financial reporting
Author statements of work for vendor partners and obtain corresponding leadership
Maintains productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function.
Generate ideas to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.
Lead and enable enterprise-wide thinking and the Abbott IT operating model.
Create an environment that encourages cooperation, open communication, and teamwork.
Serve as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to business priorities and high performance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems or related discipline; Master's degree a plus
10 years IT experience working within a large/complex IT organization\. Experience supporting multiple business functions/organizations.
Minimum 6 yrs. experience leading/managing software development projects in a complex, matrixed organization.
Experience managing 3rd party suppliers
Salesforce.com implementation experience a plus, including business requirements definition, user stories, detailed functional and system design, configuration and/or customization involving the following areas: Opportunity & Lead management, Sales, Service, Marketing, Inventory/Asset Management, on both a Force.com and Lightning environment
PMP Certificate is a plus
Mastery of all phases of software development life cycle and related methodologies
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong collaboration and partnering skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
Project leadership using Waterfall, SCRUM, and Agile methodologies
Experience with indirect management - managing by influence rather than positional authority
Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry; working with validated systems a plus
Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate course of action
Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Exceland Microsoft Project.
