WHAT YOU'LL DO
Create and investigate innovative approaches for accelerating key talent across the organization.
Scout internal high performing talent with the potential to assume critical roles and recommend differentiated development solutions to accelerate their readiness for critical roles.
Leverage insights from key talent studies, business talent strategies, and pan-Abbott development areas to identify and recommend experiences that ready potential successors for a more complex or progressive role.
Identify and analyze functional and leadership core experiences to help measure the impact of development activities; embed lagging skills in IDPs at appropriate levels on an ongoing basis.
Partner with Learning and Development colleagues to weave Individual Development Plan trends into programmatic development solutions; highlight and embed lagging capabilities to ensure our key talent is the most competitive in the marketplace.
Assess recent promotion and job change data to determine which development actions are most impactful in readying future leaders.
Demonstrate ability to identify development opportunities based on data and recommend an individual/organizational path for success based on input from assessment solutions, IDPs, and other relevant data sources.
Partners with HR colleagues to identify top talent within the organization requiring an individual development plan, compiles the final list of IDPs, manages ongoing IDP process and consults on the best ways to differentiate their development.
Manage and report on the progress of the MBA Cohort program: In partnership with BHR, develop individualized development plan for participants, identify potential next role and destination roles for participants, recommend possible assessments for their development; conduct outreach with participants and discuss their development progress.
Understands the Division/Function talent strategy and leverages it to recommend critical roles to watch and potential feeder roles that would offer impactful development for the key talent being monitored.
Helps determine and recommends the best experiences, assessments, coaching, etc. to actively increase our RN and RF successors, as well as to accelerate identified early career talent and personalizes solutions based on the needs of the business and the individual.
Identifies global trends and partners with others in Talent Development to address capability gaps at a more holistic level.
Partners with TM Insights and Operational Metrics Manager to identify themes across IDPs and against capability cliffs, in-demand skills, and internal and external benchmarks to identify additional development insights.
Sample Projects May Include:
Analyzes IDPs to identify themes across IDPs and surface capability cliffs, in-demand skills, and the developmental experiences to close any gaps.
Leverage internal and external benchmarks to complete In-Demand skills analysis, and develop recommendations that close talent gaps by function, geography and role.
Review recent Director promotions to determine which development activities best readied them for the new role; apply findings to Manager IDPs to accelerate development and increase RF talent pipeline.
Manage KFALP participation, review assessment results for trends, identify and implement actions to address trends.
Identify diverse, high potential talent and ensure they have an IDP; partner with BHR and TOC to ensure IDPs reflect development needs that will close gaps.
Position Accountability / Scope:
Reports to the Sr Manager Assessment and Development and will work directly and independently with BHR, TOC, Learning and Development and Workforce Solutions team
Interacts and partners with:
HR including: Division/Regional/Affiliate BHR and HR Directors
Colleagues across the Talent Development team including TOC, Learning and Development and Workforce Solutions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in HR, L&D, I/O Psychology or related field preferred.
Minimum Experience / Training Required:
5-8 years of progressive talent management and development experience in a variety of disciplines including leadership development, early career development, talent management, assessment, etc.
Experience creating development plans and executing them.
Experience working in large, complex global organizations, different HR models and in a matrixed organization structure.
Experience in adult learning, assessments, and development preferred.
