The Gynecology and Obstetrics Department is seeking a Research AssistantII who will work closely with the Principal Investigator providing support and coordinating clinical activities for a multi-faceted research team to ensure a smoothly functioning office, laboratory, and good patient relations.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Overall Administrative Duties
Provide routine information to callers, relay messages, and follow-up on correspondence until resolved
Manage electronic schedules
Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements for physicians and other team members
Assist with office and laboratory organization
Assist with copying, faxing, scanning documents
Screen incoming documentation and messages, determine priorities, and ensure appropriate actions
Email, fax or mail items, as appropriate
Send correspondence to referring physicians when patients cancel or don't show, and send thank you letters for patient referrals
Give information about clinical trials to potential new participants.
Along with other team members, help maintain electronic database containing specimen and clinical trial information
Pick up investigational drug from the Oncology Pharmacy and deliver to the clinic
Troubleshoot clinical and research billing issues with the Hospital and Clinical Practice Association charges
Print and mail directions, maps, clinic notes, and other clinic specific information to new study patients
Schedule appointments for potential new participants and study visits for patients on the clinical trials.
Schedule procedures in the OR for research patients on the clinical trials.
Confirm appointments by telephone prior to each clinic session
Assist the study coordinator and research nurse maintain research charts and regulatory binders
Assist with data management needs, such as data entry, research charts
Budget & Financial Management
Process bill payment, travel reimbursement using SAP
Process incentives to study patients through SAP
Place orders, verify shipments, and resolve purchasing-related issues in SAP
Schedule patient appointments for follow up, consultations and second opinions
Schedule patient procedures in the OR
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
Minimum 2 years related experience required
Experience in customer service
Experience conducting health-related research required
Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication required
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, reference managers, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing required
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required
Knowledge of clinical research practices and principles required
Must have excellent time management skills
