Our location in Columbus, OH or Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for an US Manager of Distribution Quality.
This role creates the print layout of product packaging ((labels, cartons, shippers, etc.) that incorporates branding guidelines (e.g. graphics, text, regulatory requirements, etc.) per technical specifications. The ideal candidate will be eager and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished. Consult on design and printability issues and the ability to meet tight deadlines efficiently with attention to detail.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Designs artwork for product labeling by using computer graphic software from input provided by Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Packaging Engineering, and other departments.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures
Develops artwork for primary, secondary and tertiary labeling projects
Identifies opportunities for improvement within desktop publishing processes and procedures and departmental specific formats and templates.
Participates in departmental Projects, develops assigned Project specific milestones and execution thereof
Applies specialized knowledge to coordinate day-to-day work.
Applies experience and judgment to make decisions or resolve issues within defined options or standard protocols.
Anticipates problems and recognizes when to elevate. Exceptions are usually resolved with the concurrence of a manager.
Contributes to own team/closely related teams through quality and efficiency of own work.
Applies communication skills to provide service, coordinate information and collaborate with other functional areas.
Understanding of the labeling process (initiation, development, and approval coordination).
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet challenging deadlines.
Ability to work well as a team player. Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to shifting priorities. Able to effectively communicate with working teams, other functional teams and external suppliers.
Must have capacity for attention to detail with the ability to recognize errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Able to resolve complex situations by applying demonstrated knowledge and skills generally acquired through job experience.
The position will work with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING
College degree required, Technical Diploma in Graphic design or related Discipline or Diploma
Minimum 2 years - Production graphics experience in a quality or operational function.
Printing Processes - Has experience and knowledge of printing processes. (Lithography, Offset, Digital, Gravuer, Flexography, etc.)
Adobe Creative Suite - Experience required. Advanced knowledge desired in Adobe Illustrator.
Microsoft Office - Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
