The responsibilities of this position include project management, systems analysis and design, applications development, applications testing, production implementation, end-user support, and problem management activities required to meet department project, support, and service management goals. In performing these activities, this position works with employees within other IT groups, business units, and group functions both regionally and globally within the LANXESS organization.
As a member of the IT Data and Compliance (DC) organization, this position aligns functionally with the global Data and Compliance team within Germany and India, as well as with the NORAM IT Data and Compliance team. This position partners with personnel across the LANXESS business units and group functions both globally and regionally.
This position holds the primary responsibility for developing, maintaining, and supporting LANXESS ERP and Non-ERP applications, processes, and facilities, focusing on SAP-EHS. Responsibilities include managing the configuration and operability of LANXESS EHS application, improving the quality and effectiveness of LANXESS EHS application and technology, and adhering to all IT department standards and guidelines. This position also serves as the functional owner of NORAM-specific EHS applications and interfaces.
This position adheres to project budgets as required and ensures all global IT standards and project management processes are followed.
Generate clear functional/technical specifications based on provided business requirements, with minimal supervisory oversight.
Responsible for 1 - 2 enterprise sub-processes within the core ERP system, supporting ERP add-ons, and interfaced system. Develop, maintain, and document audit-compliant operational processes within area of responsibility.
Ensure appropriate engagement with the business partners, as well as collaboration and coordination with global and regional teams, with minimal supervisory oversight.
Design, develop, and implement technical and functional solutions that support LANXESS local / global initiatives, improvements, and processes meeting the defined requirements. Maintain documentation in accordance to local or global support, project and training methodology.
Configure systems/application changes and/or enhancements within area of support responsibility.
Perform first and second-level support with business partners.
Take direction from team and project leaders to contribute to the activities required to address large, mid, and small-scale projects.
MBA/MS Degree and 5+ years of relevant business / information technology experience including functional & technical experience (e.g., SAP HANA, SAP ECC, EHS, GLM, etc.)
Proven knowledge of ERP/non-ERP applications and systems, particularly those within area of responsibility, and the ability to provide in-depth analysis of business processes.
EHS data migration tools (Data Editor, Business Objects Data Services (BODS), SAP scripting, custom developments).
SAP EHS regulatory content, including: expert rules, OCC, MSDS Maker, etc.
Substance volume tracking.
Verbal and non-verbal communication skills (fluent in business English language).
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to create technical documents and end user support instructions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
Understanding of IT service/portfolio management processes.
Knowledge of FIORI backend development.
Work experience in ABAP-coding / ABAP object-oriented coding.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
