The Product Stewards are responsible for a variety of responsibilities associated with chemical regulatory management to support various aspects of Goodyear's business model on a global basis. They partner with the business to advise and guide regarding regulations and restrictions around materials in various aspects of our operations including raw materials and final product composition.
This role will lead our company-wide assessment and strategy for chemical regulatory compliance of the materials used in our operations and final products. The incumbent will support our global stewardship organization and collaborate with other internal stakeholders to advise and educate on emerging risks and strategies for ensuring compliance associated with applicable chemical regulations.
Monitors and communicates on existing, developing and changing chemical regulations applicable to our global business model
Leads our global stewardship roundtable to drive alignment on actions and recommendations to ensure business continuity and compliance with regulations that apply to materials used in our operations and the final composition of our products
Develops and delivers general chemical regulatory training for internal stakeholders to promote awareness and compliance
Provides guidance and advises on strategies for chemical regulatory compliance to internal functions such as technology and procurement
Advises and implements best practices to advance our product stewardship maturity
May interface with external stakeholders such as customers and trade associations
Supports and mentors other product stewards
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, toxicology, engineering, environmental science, or related field
Master’s degree in a related field; relevant topic area certifications
7 or more years of experience in Product Stewardship
Experience with other functional areas, such as Engineering, Sales, etc.
Experience with external organizations (i.e., Trade Associations)
Prior mentoring or supervising experience (desired)
Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge of chemical regulations and customer requirements
Ability to influence and drive alignment; problem-solve
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Research skills, strong data analysis and interpretation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
