Experienced research assistants are sought to work across multiple studies examining income-based health disparities. The research assistant will assist the study coordinator with administrative duties as assigned.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Participate in study team meetings.
Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned research protocols.
Follow all study IRB approved protocols and procedures
Assist with collecting and/or obtaining data
Assist the study data analyst with data management and basic data summary tasks as needed
Assist with the preparation of manuscripts and other study documents
Other duties as assigned by the Principle Investigator
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Some related experience
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate attention to detail in all assigned tasks
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to complete multiple tasks on a timely basis
HIPAA and Research Compliance certification training relevant to human subjects' research and other JHU classes as required.
Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Principal Investigator, study team members and participants
Ability to work well with others to solve problems
Ability to maintain participant confidentiality

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
