The Water Environment Technology program coordinator position is a year-round position that is responsible for the tasks detailed below. Compensation for the position is comprised of a stipend for 3 credit hours for the academic year, distributed as 1 credit hour for each semester of Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer.
Recommend course offerings to ensure program continuity in a timely manner.
Review course offerings to ensure appropriate time offerings, consistent with the master schedule as appropriate to program.
Recommend faculty course assignments.
Develop, revise, and update academic curricula and program in response to student and community needs.
Develop and update catalog course and program description, degree guidelines/guide sheets and course outlines, as needed.
Work with Articulation Office to ensure maximum articulation.
Recommend course waivers for students when appropriate.
INSTRUCTIONALSTAFFING and COMMUNICATIONWITHADJUNCTFACULTY
Recruit and interview adjunct faculty.
Recommend part time faculty for employment.
Communicate potential schedules to adjunct faculty.
Coordinate the review of effectiveness of adjunct faculty, including review of student evaluations.
ADVISORYCOMMITTEE In cooperation with the Dean of Career Education and Learning Partnerships:
Recruit advisory committee members.
Initiate and conduct at least one meeting per year.
Administer and manage advisory committee.
Communicate advisory committee action items to discipline.
Participate in a quarterly update with the Dean's office on program action items.
Coordinate the promotion /marketing of the program in the community.
Work with Dean of Career Education and Learning Partnerships to maintain program viability.
Provide student advisement when appropriate.
Coordinate offsite experiential learning, including internship opportunities.
Complete necessary documentation and reports from program evaluations as required by Delta College as well as state and federal accreditation agencies.
Make recommendations for changes based on program assessment, including plans for improvement.
Serve as discipline contact person using firstname.lastname@example.org.
Perform administrative task as assigned by the associate dean.
Maintain student records relevant to program when necessary.
Plan/Conduct/Coordinate student orientations.
Communicate resource needs to associate dean.
Associate degree or higher in a field relevant to the water/wastewater treatment field, or comparable experience
F2, S2, or B license from MI-EGLE, or higher
