The Program Manager oversees the daily activities of the CFW and is responsible for managing the administrative infrastructure necessary to support the multiple programs and activities initiated and sponsored by the Center. The Program Manager will assist the Director with developing, implementing and monitoring well-being initiatives. In conjunction with the Director, the Program Manager will help to ensure that the CFWB adds significant value to the institution and to the national discussion of faculty well-being and burnout prevention. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Manager will assist the Director of the Center for Faculty Well-Being in all activities of the center. Responsibilities will include:  - Oversee daily functions of the CFWB, including manage metrics of the CFWB, such as outcomes data, CFWB committees and initiatives, and CFWB events.
- Assist CFWB Director with launching new initiatives, including an annual assessment of faculty well-being status.
- Create and maintain internal faculty resources, materials and links on various DFCI websites related to well-being and burnout prevention.
- Help coordinate with DFCI offices participating in CFWB efforts, including Human Resources, Occupational Health, Communications, Office of Faculty Development and all departments with a clinical component.
- Assist with assessment of well-being initiatives.
- Help monitor faculty well-being for other external academic medical centers to ensure DFCI remains up-to-date on best practices in this area.
- Develop a system and process for allowing faculty to submit anonymous constructive complaints, solutions and suggestions that the CFWB Committee would address.
- Help in developing an annual progress report for the DFCI President, Department Chair and Vice Chairs for Medical Oncology in conjunction with the Director of the CFWB.
- Help to organize a regular forum to regularly identify, brainstorm and plan new initiatives to address operational inefficiencies.
- Under the direction of the CFWB director, assist with communication of issues of faculty well-being and burnout at DFCI among faculty. This may include a quarterly newsletter and more regular brief updates in the Weekly MO e-newsletter.
- Staff meetings, take minutes and distribute after all CFWB committee meetings on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for inventorying and promoting regular team-building/celebratory meetings of divisions and centers throughout the institute to understand, describe, and share best practices and support groups to enhance team-building as appropriate.
- Help to inventory clinical coverage systems within and across divisions and develop and share best practices models.
- Support the development of a regular forum for faculty to be able to communicate issues of faculty well-being and burnout including “pain points� of scheduling and new clinical operations initiatives so faculty can be heard constructively.
- Engage with DFCI Human Resources, with BWH and other external initiatives focused on general well-being, and physician well-being and burnout prevention in particular, to bring new ideas and best practices for our faculty.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: - Bachelors degree required. Masters degree (e.g., MBA, MPA, MHA) preferred, with at least three years of progressively responsible work experience in an academic, health care, research or other related environment.
- Experience in project management or administrative direction, preferably in the area of faculty or educational development strongly preferred.
- Must have understanding of faculty and career issues, outreach and development.
- Financial and budget experience.
- Ability to interact effectively in a complex organization and in ambiguous situations. Must be able to establish excellent working relationships with individuals and teams at various levels and from various fields of expertise.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable in working in matrix type environment.
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, analytical and organization skills.
- Innovative, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
