Occupational Registered Nurse or Occupational Nurse Practitioner - (20001710)
This is a limited term position for 1 year.
The University Infection Control department provides the strategic vision to build and sustain a university-wide infection prevention health program and supports harmonization of health and safety policies across all schools by working with relevant committee. In addition, the department directs and completes assessment of levels of health and safety infection risk within the university environment.
Provides occupational health nurse services to faculty and staff to minimize lost time and to keep employees physically and mentally able to perform jobs. Services are provided under the supervision of University Infection Control Heath Director, a designated physician. Observes, promotes and ensures adherence to safety, security, and industrial hygiene rules and protocols. Collaborates with university stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of health services. Supports University Infection Control Health Director in working with external consultants to develop and execute University's long-term Occupational Health and Safety vision.
Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of bachelor's degree in nursing.
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
3 - 5 years of occupational health nursing experience.
Knowledge of Massachusetts workers' compensation law, HIPPA, OSHA, ADA and FMLA.
Broad based knowledge of occupational health and general nursing practices, procedures and protocols.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and demonstrated skill with electronic medical documentation.
Nurse practitioner certifications.
Infectious disease nursing experience preferred.
Case management experience.
Additional medical certifications.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Travel between campuses required.
