The Research Assistant will be primarily involved in basic data collection and management for several research projects. Screen and recruit potential study participants according to protocol's inclusion and exclusion criteria. Will work directly under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and co-investigators. This is a casual position, not to exceed 19 hours per week.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist PI with data collection, entry and management.
Collate and organize data for research manuscripts, prepare tables, figures, and references.
Format research manuscripts for submission to specific journals.
Perform basic data management and calculations using computerized database and spreadsheet software.
Review data for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with data cleaning and data quality review and control.
Maintain and organize study files.
Maintain confidential records of research trials.
Effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.
Participate in team meetings.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
Some related research or data collection experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula***.
2 years related experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in MS office applications, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Strong organization skills with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
***JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
