General purpose: The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse is to participate in the College's COVID-19 testing program and participate in its affiliated contact tracing efforts. Â Summary of Essential Functions - Provide testing and related functions to faculty, staff, and students
- Perform administrative functions
- Update skills as needed, recertify as appropriate, application of evidenced based research to practice
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Provide broad based asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for faculty, staff, and students
- Initiate prompt communication with individuals (contacts) exposed to COVID-19 through text, phone calls, and/or email.
- Work closely with the Associate Vice President, Student Health and Wellness in partnership with the Baltimore City Health Department for all COVID-19 case reporting
- Must adhere to the Collegeâs COVID-19 testing, symptom tracking, and all other established COVID-19 protocols
- Serve on administrative committees related to current practices and service delivery as required
- Routinely assess quality assurance and review protocols related to COVID-19 testing
- Maintain current MD State RN licensure
- Maintain current BLS certification
- Obtain required Continuing Education Units for licensure and certification
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required
- Maryland RN license
- Current BLS certification is required
- Proficiency in the use of an Electronic Medical Record system
Preferred qualifications: - Strong time management skills (organization, prioritization, multitasking)
- Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent dynamic communication and interpersonal skills
- Culturally competent with the ability to employ tactful language and empathetic interviewing skills to build rapport and maintain trust with individuals of varied backgrounds
- Solid writing ability and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
- Strong commitment to a culture of diversity, equity, respect and inclusion; demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives and experiences
