ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (EMP) OFFICER , Environment, Health and Safety Office (EHS) , to function as an integral member of the multidisciplinary EHS Office, providing technical support to all EHS program areas. Will oversee MIT's compliance with air permit programs, including a Title V permit and chemical reporting programs; serve as back-up for water/hazardous waste/MCP programs; participate in a range of EHS programs within and outside area(s) of expertise; and develop the necessary expertise to integrate overall EHS programs into sustainable practices/policies/guidelines. Responsibilities include assisting clients with problem resolution; keeping abreast of pertinent EHS regulations/developments and evaluating their impact on MIT; participating on an Institute-wide EHS management system that integrates compliance, sustainability, and education; assisting with developing and training staff; participating in or leading committees/teams/study groups; developing and implementing general EHS programs/training; leading/conducting accident/incident investigations; reviewing and analyzing EHS aspects of academic research/experiments; working with Facilities to achieve regulatory compliance; participating in the EHS emergency response on-call rotational system, serving as the EMP subject matter expert; and performing other duties as directed. May provide occasional direction to an assistant EHS officer, technologist, or technician. Job Requirements
