In the North American Care Chemicals Division, we develop, produce and market a comprehensive range of products for personal care, home care and industrial & institutional cleaning, agricultural chemical additives, as well as various technical applications. Our range of products fulfills the highest standards for safety and sustainability. As a result of focused research and development, we are a preferred partner of our customers worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the Product Stewardship program for the Care Chemicals business in North America, located in Florham Park, NJ. In this role, you will have primary Product Stewardship responsibility for the Care Chemicals product portfolio and will routinely interface with Business Unit Leadership, the Regulatory Affairs Specialist, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, R&D, Technical, EHS and Legal. You will strategically identify emerging EHS issues and opportunities, assess product and market risks, and proactively develop risk management measures and product strategies for the Care Chemicals business.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in a scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Toxicology) or Engineering and your EHS/Regulatory or related business experience, you will provide strategic direction on EHS product-related issues and opportunities to senior business leadership on a routine basis and, more formally, though the Strategic EHS Forecast documentation under the BASF Responsible Care Management System (r) .
Applying your familiarity with REACH regulations, you will function as the business's primary REACH resource - addressing business and customer questions. You will also coordinate registrations and resolve issues with existing registrations.
Demonstrating your sound skills related to use of computer-based tools for knowledge assessment and management, you will manage the Customer Support database to track key performance indicators (KPIs). You will work in this database to address customer requests across EM to ensure timely responses to entered customer requests. Additionally, you will coordinate efforts of the group's Regulatory Support Specialists as needed.
Your ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a virtual and matrix organization will be essential as you apply expertise and regulatory knowledge to promote sustainable business opportunities.
Utilizing your strong skills related to leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations, customer focus, work management and results orientation, you will support the development and implementation of Stewardship tools, programs, and management systems, including implementation of BASF Product Stewardship Directive for business unit and product stewardship-related activities under the BASF Responsible Care Management System (r) .
Relying on your knowledge of EHS product regulations in North America and/or knowledge of business unit product portfolio, markets, and industries, you will work with the Care Chemicals Regulatory Affairs Specialists to strategically identify emerging EHS issues and opportunities, assess product and market risks, and proactively develop risk management measures and product strategies for assigned portfolio and business segments.
Your ability to communicate effectively will serve you well as you partner with the Care Chemicals Regulatory Affairs Specialists to determine and assess the impacts of product changes and regulatory requirements on business unit products, markets, and customers, and actively manage regulatory issues to resolution.
