Key Accountabilities Include:
Under direction of the public health manager, conduct periodic risk assessments to support and ensure compliance with campus safety initiatives (e.g., COVID-19)
Assists public health manager in proper PPE selection, training, regulatory compliance, conducting safety audits and generate reports as required
Assist public health manager with reviews of plans, processes, procedures to ensure it meets Federal, State, and local legal requirements and regulations
Investigates complaints concerning non-compliance and recommending corrective measures that is consistent with local public health guidelines
Investigates accidents that occur in the workplace with recommendations to prevent future accidents and injuries
Assist public health manager with all aspects of a comprehensive medical surveillance program
Work with HR/Departments to identify positions requiring medical surveillance/medical monitoring program participation based on specific job classifications
Liaison between departments and medical provider to ensure employees receive proper medical surveillance on a regular basis
Work with HR/Departments to schedule individuals for medical monitoring assessment with Occupational Health prior to initial start date
Work with EH&S SMEâs to identify program preventive safety and health actions from new or uncontrolled hazards in the workplace

Bachelorâs degree in public health, microbiology and/or biology
3+ years in biosafety, public health, health and safety and/or medical surveillance
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Exercise good judgement and discretion in handling confidential matters
Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to work with internal staff as well as external stakeholders
Ability to work with diverse populations
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degreeMinimum Experience: 1 yearMinimum Field of Expertise: Science education or directly related experience
