This position is responsible for the direction, oversight, and management of workers' compensation, general / premises liability, property, and automobile liability claims. Candidates should have a background in complex workers compensation claim investigation and management, including knowledge of the Tennessee Workers' Compensation laws, and CMS requirements. Background in management strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Oversight and management of workers' compensation, general liability, property and automobile claims:
Investigation, evaluation, and determination of liability/compensability
Negotiation and settlement as appropriate and within the Delegation of Authority policy
Reporting to excess insurance carrier as appropriate
Assignment of outside defense counsel as appropriate
Identification of trends and safety hazards
Maintenance of claim records for trending and renewal information
Maintain OSHA logs and reporting
Responsible for the oversight and management of the workers' compensation program:
Oversight of claims in litigation
Evaluation and monitoring of trends in injuries, including communication with appropriate departments and staff to reduce injuries
Management and supervision of claim staff
Collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety, Plant Operations, and other departments to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions.
Membership and participation on safety committees.
