As such, our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department plays a vital role in supporting that mission through the implementation of programs that continuously strive to exceed and set industry standards as well as enhance the safety culture. EHS is responsible for Fire and Life Safety, Emergency Management, Construction Safety, Hazardous Material and Waste Management, Laboratory Safety, Occupational Safety, Healthcare Safety, Environmental Compliance and Ergonomics.
We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist who can be part of a dynamic and growing organization, This is an excellent opportunity for someone with paralegal or related experience, and a passion to support healthcare safety.
Maintain close collaborative relationship between EHS and each Facilities Management Department, Office of General Counsel, MSK Leadership, and subject-matter experts to ensure timely review and follow up of all EHS and Facilities violations. Lead Root Cause Analyses of identified violations to prevent recurrence. Generate metrics and reports showing trends and accountability related to violations.
Participate in projects and initiatives in close collaboration with EHS to proactively minimize future violations.
Support the Environment of Care surveillance program through participation in field surveys, and survey data management.
Perform administrative duties to support the Executive Counsel for Safety and the Environment (ECSE).
A Bachelors degree with 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience, plus experience in the development and facilitation of improvement projects of moderate complexity (4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree).
Paralegal, or similar experience is preferred.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification a strong plus.
Skill in assessing and implementing EHS compliance programs and working with a diverse clientele.
Demonstrated ability to organize, track, and prioritize work responsibilities and regulatory deadlines.
