Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Pathophysiology. Four (4) years of full-time postdoctoral experience in a research lab. Experience with lipid metabolizing enzymes.
Experience with nCDase and/or CERK assay development. Experience with routine cell culture, biochemical and cell based assays, compound screening, or mass spectrometry.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Research Scientist will join a group in Pathology involved in cancer drug discovery and drug resistance projects. The successful incumbent will have outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills. They will work independently and as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Working independently, incumbent will perform a variety of routine and skilled tasks involved in developing small molecule inhibitors of neutral ceramidase (nCDase) and ceramide kinase (CERK).
Participate in weekly lab meeting and write data reports.
Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
