Under the supervision of the Research Program Manager and Senior Research Program Coordinator, the Research Assistant will primarily assist in the day-to-day logistical and operational tasks for various research studies in the department. The Research Assistant will interact with the investigators, collaborators, and patients in a research environment. This person will assist with running and analyzing reports and assist in the preparation of IRB amendments as needed. This person will also assist in carrying out research in accordance with good clinical practices in such activities as obtaining informed consent, data collection, and patient follow-up over time by phone. Access to a car strongly preferred.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Participate in data collection and organization of multiple studies. Activities include liaising with partner clinic sites, ensuring proper implementation of study processes across multiple sites, responding to an escalating concern from clinic staff, abstracting data, helping organize and edit reports, and interacting with study participants. Will be involved in scientific discussions with collaborators and PI's. Organizing and taking notes on meetings and workshops. Participate in data collection and management for research studies.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.

Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Public health or patient-centered research experience.
Experience with literature reviews, Endnote, RedCAP, excel, and including using PubMed.
Interacting with patients, families, and health care/ public health professionals in the research setting.
