The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Adolescent Depression Awareness Program (ADAP) and assists in the implementation of the program’s mission to provide depression education to students, teachers, and parents in their communities and provides support to research, performs administrative duties, and coordinates all program and research related activities. The Research Program Coordinator is largely responsible for the collection, organization, entry, maintenance, and accuracy of program and research data in a timely and ongoing manner. Additionally, the Research Program Coordinator performs various office duties such as purchasing, reimbursements, and other administrative activities.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinating operational activities of ADAP including organizing, prioritizing, coordinating, and distributing the workload of volunteers. Communicating with schools and establishing collaborators; instilling confidence in and credibility of ADAP and its established outcomes; identifying school-based educators for training; coordinating all aspects of the training for school-based personnel; organizing, processing, and analyzing student data; maintaining detailed records and electronic databases of all ADAP activities. Responsibility encompasses providing support to faculty teaching the curriculum and assisting school-based educators with teaching the curriculum; facilitating meetings with the school-based instructors; participating in data entry, collection, and basic analysis, ensuring its timely completion; maintaining optimal working relationships with collaborating schools and organizations.
Awareness of program trends, activities, goals, and objectives
Maintains calendar for ADAP
Participates in development of a strategic plan for ADAP, participating in program evaluation and revisions
Serves as the initial program contact for national collaborators and is responsible for determining appropriate collaborators and facilitating national expansion
Coordinates class schedules and special projects
Attends and supports trainings and program related functions as needed
Manages day-to-day financial responsibilities such as submitting online payments of invoices, travel reimbursement, conferences fees, purchase orders, etc.
Contributes to the maintenance of protocol binders. With assistance, prepares and submits annual renewal requests and amendments according to IRB and other sponsoring institutional requirements
Responsible for data management duties that include: creating and maintaining databases, performing data entry, data processing and cleaning, and exporting data files into Excel and/or SPSS for analysis
Assists the principal investigator and/or program manager with information and plans required to accomplish program goals
Assists in creating presentations in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or other presentation medium
Establish and maintain a library of articles in RefWorks
Meets regularly with faculty to review overall progress
Collaborates with individuals internal and external to the program
Prepares progress reports to granting organizations and foundations
Serves as liaison to the IRB
Assists in preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, statistical reports, tables, and charts; updates ADAP website content as needed
Answers phones, screens calls, triages
Education: BA or BS degree in related discipline
Experience: Some related experience or background in mental health field is helpful, but training and education will be provided
Licensure: Driver’s license
Candidates with previous experience or willingness to learn the Adolescent Depression Awareness Program (ADAP) programs will be most successful in this role and previous research experience helpful.

Many technical skills are required for the position, including work Excel, REDCap, and Canvas Learning Management System
