The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) is in search of a highly organized and motivated Research Coordinator for Shared Resources. This individual will report to the Assistant Director of Shared Resources and will support the day to day operations. Ideally, the incumbent will have previous experience working in a lab, some knowledge of PeopleSoft systems software and some finance knowledge.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Order supplies, obtain vendor quotes and reconcile P-Card transactions.
Deposit checks, bill external vendors and work closely with AP to resolve payment issues.
Ensure all the invoices are processed and paid.
Generate requisitions, purchase orders, process travel and business expense forms.
Be detail oriented and maintain a high level of confidentiality, exercising judgement in access to the department's personal and financial records.
Responsible for collaborating with various groups within the institute to provide financial operational support to improve the performance, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Department.
Collaborate with EHS to clear rooms and equipment.
Assist with lab movements, maintain equipment, interact with vendors, contractors and other specialized research functions for the Center.
Perform general administrative coordination for the Shared Resources by interacting with core-directors.
Assist with progression by supporting Shared Resources needs.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge of basic chemical and/or biological terminology.
Knowledge of more sophisticated laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of computer operations or specific background in computer operations.
Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision.
Ability to perform work in a neat and orderly manner in accordance with safety regulations.
Ability to be flexible and perform ad-hoc tasks.
Ability to organize and prioritize while leveraging the Finance, Lab, and Shared Resources responsibilities.
Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
