Department Description Special Service Wellness Programs ensure that PM&R Therapies (Occupational Health) is serving the campus in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the department and have campus-wide impact. Current programs include, UC Living Fit Forever, Fit Break, UFit, and the Farmers Market at UCD Health. UC Davis Occupational Health Services is responsible for worker health and safety in a highly diverse teaching, research, and support service environment. The population served exceeds 20,000 covered lives representing 9,000 clinic encounters in the preceding year. Regulatory oversight of OH programs includes OSHA (Cal OSHA), CA DIR, CA Department of Public Health and Yolo Co. Health, US Department of Transportation, HIPAA, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Health Educator 3 operationalizes special service wellness programs within multi -departmental programs on the UCD Health campus. The Health Educator 3 is responsible for interventions at the individual, family, community, organizational and policy level. The Health Educator 3 is responsible for analysis and promotion of health and education programs, as well as services for employees aimed to prevent illness and improve health outcomes under the direction of the PM&R Therapies Manager and Occupational Health Director. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent education and experience.
Experience conceptualizing, developing and delivering medical clinic programs and services, including creating policies and procedures.
Customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues, professionals, clients/patients and administrators.
Established collaboration skills to work with management and directors to establish short- and long-range planning and program goals.
Communication skills to prepare and deliver presentations and to prepare written reports, correspondence, proposals and other materials for a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of Health Information Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act.
Nationally recognized certification as a Health and Wellness Coach.
Familiarity with the UC Davis Health and campus as well as Sacramento and Davis communities.
Master's degree in a health-related field or equivalent education and experience.
Background in an Occupational Health Clinic environment.
