Head of Upper School
Eagle Hill School
The Head of Upper School (approximately grades 6-8, though EHS is ungraded), in close collaboration with the Head of School and Head of Lower School, is responsible for the development and maintenance of all aspects of the educational program of Eagle Hill. This includes assessing and developing curriculum, monitoring student progress, developing and overseeing professional development and evaluation program, and hiring upper school faculty.
Eagle Hill School is a highly collaborative school, and the Upper School Head should be a collegial leader comfortable working with veteran teachers as well as teachers just beginning their career. Experienced and skilled in working with students with learning differences, the successful candidate will have an understanding of the importance of multisensory/experiential teaching, an ability to work supportively with parents and a knowledge of the challenges faced by our students. Eagle Hill students are bright students with language-based learning differences, ADHD and/or executive function challenges. The school’s carefully formulated research-based curriculum helps students in reading, writing and math, as well as organizing, planning and effective self-advocacy. Responsibilities include:
