Provide customer service by patrolling campus parking lots and garages, performing motorists' assistance and customer needs for the garage, providing parking information, provide support in communications center for garage, and issuing parking citations as warranted. Direct parking during special events and maintain equipment. Work with departmental maintenance staff by installing parking and traffic control equipment as needed. Work requires extensive walking, lifting and moving cones, barricades and other equipment, using handheld citation units, and may require digging/filling holes and working during inclement weather. Work hours will vary and rotate between shifts. Work days and work hours will be adjusted to meet university needs.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The Department of Parking and Transportation Services is an auxiliary service of East Carolina University. The department is within the Division of Administration and Finance and reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Environmental Health and Safety.
The Department of Parking & Transportation Services strives to fulfill the parking needs of the University community by efficiently and effectively managing, planning, operating, and maintaining the University parking lots. Our staff is committed to accomplishing our goals through registration and enforcement procedures administered with the highest level of consistent and equitable service.
The Parking and Transportation department is responsible for the registration and identification of all vehicles operated by staff, faculty, students, and visitors who utilize University Parking facilities. The department is also responsible for enforcement of the ECU Parking and Transportation Regulations, and for the collection of parking fines issued when violations of the regulations occur. The department is also responsible for the maintenance of all campus parking facilities, parking equipment, and vehicles under their jurisdiction. Other responsibilities of the department include: working with external partners to facilitate vehicle rentals for ECU staff, faculty and students traveling on university business; providing parking and staffing for special events held on campus; and serving as an informational center for individuals visiting the campus.
