The School of Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full time, Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor position in Public Health beginning August, 2020. TCNJ currently offers a Bachelor of Science major and minor in Public Health, a five-year and traditional Masters of Public Health with tracks in precision health, global health, and health communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effective teaching, scholarship, professional development, service, and advising. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities will comprise undergraduate and graduate courses, including foundational courses and electives in the applicant's area of expertise. Applicants must be committed to engaging undergraduate and graduate students in research experiences and actively participate in TCNJ's a teacher-scholar model.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Public Health or related field, and experience in MPH/BS programs and accreditation and certificate programs. Preference will be given to faculty whose education and research generally focuses on Social and Behavioral Sciences including Health Policy, Health Systems, Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health, Substance Abuse, Violence and Injury, Environmental and Occupational Health, Leadership and Community Interventions. Qualified candidates with additional administrative experience in CEPH accreditation and student-faculty research are urged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate a strong research agenda, have experience in building partnerships and be successful obtaining internal and external funding. Successful experience building programs in public health and the ability to advance interdisciplinary program development engaging all seven schools at TCNJ are also preferred.
