Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Staff Nurse Per Diem for the Environmental and Occupational Healthcare Sciences Institute (EOHSI). Under the direction of the Department Administrator the Staff Nurse, in accordance with professional nursing standards, will skillfully administer total patient care based on the individualized needs of assigned patients and families.
Assesses and provides nursing care for occupational, non-occupational illness and injuries, World Trade Center, and surveillance of patients.
Responds to medical emergencies on the Piscataway Campus.
Reviews programmatic medical claims for clinical appropriateness. Assesses pre- and post- authorization compliance and assists in auditing activities.
Conducts occupational medical surveillance examinations.
Performs medical screenings such as vision, vital signs, immunizations, audiograms, pulmonary function tests, and EKGs.
Collaborates with other members of the occupational health team such as physicians, supervisors, health care professionals, administrative staff, government officials, Third Party Administrators, and Human Resources.
Maintains medical records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in accordance with established guidelines.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Spirometer and EKG.
Current CPR certification.
Occupational Health experience
Salary: $46.94 per hour
