Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to support the day-to-day operation of the Vitamin E areas, providing the technical support needed to execute the required production plan. As Production Engineer, you will have strong leadership in the areas of both process safety and occupational safe plant operation with adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies. You will play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizing fixed and variable unit costs, improving quality, executing maintenance and capital projects, and other manufacturing topics. You will be instrumental in leading troubleshooting efforts when problems arise and be a 24/7-solution provider requiring off hours support as needed.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your BS Degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred) and your broad chemical or regulated plant experience (production, maintenance, technical preferred), you will provide guidance and input to the achievement and development of plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets.
Using your excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, you will generate and complete MOCs. Additionally, you will be responsible to maintain Process Safety Information, such as P&IDs.
Demonstrating your personal integrity and commitment to the site, you will be on-call and respond to significant after-hours events that impact production or EHS.
Your strong aptitude for process safety and culture change will be evident as you provide technical and leadership support in AIMS Investigations and Root Cause Failure Analyses.
Your demonstrated knowledge of cGMP, Food Safety, and PSM regulatory requirements will be a valued asset as you e nsure proper definition and documentation of operating files, SOPs, records, reporting procedures, and technical files as well as the annual recertification of their applicability.
Working effectively with Operators and Production Supervisors, you will participate in production planning and scheduling. Additionally, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the Daily Operational Team for plant problems that occur.
T hinking efficiently and strategically, you will identify Lean opportunities and support implementation of these Lean Projects.
Working success fully as a team, you will maintain staffing flexibility by cross training with other technical personnel as needed.
Your strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential as you interface with different departments and customers as needed.
