Reporting to the System Vice President, SafeChoice & Employee Health, the Employee Health Director is responsible for planning,coordinating and implementing an Employee Health Program that strategicallyaligns with the overall business objectives of Baylor Scott & White Health. Strategizes, develops and leads theimplementation of effective processes to optimize operational efficiencies ofthe Employee Health Department.
Â·Develops supports and retains a cohesive professional team.
Â·Supports the professional staff selection process to attractand retain the personnel needed to consistently demonstrate appropriatetechnical expertise, maturity and professional commitment to excellence so thatthe department has the necessary talent to accomplish the day to day businessgoals.
Â·Provides proper coaching and guidance to enhance theirgrowth potential in the organization including technical resources andeducational training.
Â·Establishes and monitors departmental goals and objectivesto align with BSWH strategic goals and strategies.
Â·Institutes mentoring relations for key employees andsupports their participation in the development of succession and trainingplans for critical positions.
Â·Providesguidance and assistance to staff and other functional areas.
Â·Oversees the payroll, performance management, hiring,promoting, corrective action, development plans and performance improvement andall other personnel decisions.
Â·Provides leadership and direction in the creation of aculture of safety and health within the system that reduces operatingexpenditures for the financial impact to the organization.
Â·Develops and monitors all department capital and operatingexpenses to ensure that actual expenditures are consistent with the establishedannual budget.
Â·Establishes annual budget expenditures for operations andprogram projections with review and attestation to all monthly and quarterlyreports.
COORDINATES SYSTEMWIDE EMPLOYEE HEALTH PROGRAM.
Â·Works collaboratively with all entities tostandardize Employee Health processes.
Â·Assures Employee Health processes addressessystem-wide needs and priorities.
Â·Reviews protocols and processes on a periodicbasis to assure processes remain current and responsive to organizationalneeds.
MAINTAIN COMPLIANCEWITH NATIONAL STANDARDS, REGULATORY AGENCIES AND INTERNAL POLICIES ANDPROCEDURES.
Â·Reviews Employee Health processes to assurecompliance with regulatory requirements.
Â·Coordinates activities with other departments(Human Resources, Legal/Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control) to maintaincompliance with state, national, and regulatory standards, i.e., EEOC,
OSHA, CDC, CMS, JC,etc., and internal policies and procedures.
Â·Coordinates systems for data collection andreporting to various internal and external groups as related to Employee Healthissues.
Â·Assures active department participation inquality measures.
Â·Coordinates regularly scheduled EmployeeHealth meetings for provision of services, standardization, exchange ofinformation and planning activities.
Â·Reviews current standards and recommendationsfrom appropriate professional organizations and modifies or changes policies,procedures, processes as indicated.
Â·Utilizes Continuous Learning and ImprovementProcess tools to focus on process issues contributing to Employee Healthimprovement opportunities.
Â·Performs other position duties as required ina competent, professional, timely and considerate manner.
Â·Must be knowledgeable in corrective actionplanning.
Â·Must be knowledgeable in adult educationprinciples.
Â·Serves as knowledgeable and availableresource for Employee Health practices.
Bachelorâs required, Masterâs preferred
5+ years Employee/Occupational Health related experience preferred
5+ years of supervisory experience required
RN license preferred
Strong project management skills
