Operations and Compliance Engineer I (1901253) – Freeport, TX
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like to you to provide support to EHS, Capital Projects, and Process Optimization at our Freeport, TX facility. In this role, your responsibilities will include supporting and providing input into Freeport site environmental strategy, providing technical support for process optimization projects, and ensuring each project meets applicable regulatory requirements for environmental compliance.

Formula for Success
Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you review daily environmental compliance record and periodic reporting requirements. You will also follow-up, track and ensure timely closure of environmental related action items.
Using your strong communication and organizational skills, you will serve as unit contact for Agency inspections / audits and provide unit- specific coordination, preparation and maintenance of environmental compliance between internal audits.
Your strong analytical and computer skills will serve you well as you act as the unit focal point for all data required for new environmental permits or changes to existing environmental permits. You will also support permitting efforts by supplying process/operating data for capital projects.
Utilizing your process improvement experience, you will develop and implement processes (both equipment based and administrative) to achieve compliance with environmental regulations.
Leveraging your education and experience in Engineering, you will provide engineering based continuous improvement solutions for minimizing the impact of environmental processes (includes waste minimization).
As a subject matter expert, you will participate and provide expertise in PHAs and develop and provide support for environmental training of Operations personnel.
Your solid troubleshooting skills will be a valued asset as you troubleshoot process deviations to drive improvement in quality, operability, and safety.
Demonstrating your thoroughness and experience with incident investigation, you will lead investigations and drive resolution of AIMS associated with Environmental and Operations incidents.
