The North & South America Product Steward provides expert product stewardship guidance to assure compliance with FDA, TSCA, EPA, DEA, OSHA, and/or other global Product Stewardship regulations. The Product Steward is a key team member who works across functions to drive regulatory compliance and product stewardship practices consistent with a Responsible Care company while enabling growth. As such, the Product Steward must possess technical and regulatory skills, and demonstrate business acumen
Generate, review and approve Safety Data Sheets (SDS); Research Sample SDS per applicable regulations, and ensure their timely completion and release
Properly assigns GHS classifications based on experimental or modeled data.
Maintains up to date Product Regulatory Data Sheets (RDS) and provide timely responses to customer regulatory requests
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively within the team and across functions.
Proven abilities in project management to effectively move SAP enhancement projects towards completion.
Manage TSCA workflow and facilitate Risk-Based Product Characterizations
Regulatory Focal Point to Market Segment Team
Evaluates regulatory requirements and collaborates with business teams to support market expansions and new product introductions (chemical substance registration or notifications)
Reviews new/updated product literature for accuracy of regulatory compliance/claims
Properly manages priorities according to deadlines
Identify business-specific risk review triggers and escalate appropriately. Understand business risk review process and actively participate in business risk reviews
Proficiency in key computational modeling tools used in stage gate safety screening.
Prepares final computational reports for R&D and/or Market Segment Teams
Effectively executes tiered strategy for conduct of additional studies to adequately characterize safety of ANGUS products.
Coordinates with Regulatory Team and Tool Providers to ensure tools can be reliably used for ANGUS chemistries.
Approves and ensures implementation of best practices in the application of New Approach Methods (NAMs).
HQ Responsible Care Coordinator
Works in partnership with the Responsible Care Team to execute corporate Responsible Care initiatives
Maintains and tracks progress against the Product Stewardship Plan.
Evaluates and modifies key performance indicators (KPIs) as needed
Supports regulatory function during Responsible Care Audits
Partners with Facility Manager to support safe work environment at ANGUS HQ
A Bachelor or Master of Science in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology or a related discipline or equivalent experience in an EHS Product Stewardship role in Pharmaceutical, Personal Care, Food, or Chemical Industries.
Previous SDS (SAP) experience preferred.
Two-five years of experience is desired.
Previous work experience with chemical management regulatory bodies.
