This position is responsible for managing the Wheelchair Seating Service Customer Service areas including: Complex Rehab Order management, Intake, Front Office and Authorization. Develop policies and procedures for customer service to support department goals with a focus on patient care and interdepartmental support. Generate monthly reports detailing customer service and authorization metrics.
Supervise daily assignments and activities for Wheelchair Seating Service customer service representative (CSR) staff, including attendance, overtime usage, review and approval of timesheets, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
Generate monthly reports, detailing open orders by production status.
Develop policies and guidelines for all areas of customer service.
Ensure that department is compliant with regulatory and accreditation requirements, safety and quality improvement programs.
Responsible for accurate and timely sales reporting.
Responsible for maintaining an acceptable level of pending revenue.
Responsible for interviewing, selecting and training employees for open positions.
Validate, review, and document the professional competence of the staff.
Contribute to the education, training, professional development, and assessment of staff.
Direct the development of individual performance plans for the CSRs, review of staff performance, and addressing personnel issues.
Lead the initiative for staff development through the provision of continuing education endeavors and staff training.
Contribute to the maintenance of and compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory required programs and documentation including preparation for accreditation surveys.
Train team members on reimbursement policies and procedures and payer requirements.
Responsible for documenting guidelines and procedures required by the various payers, particularly managed care organizations, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare and Medicaid.
Attend and conduct meetings as required and necessary.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with at least 3 years of supervision/lead experience
5 years or more of experience in health care supervision or complex rehabilitation technology
8 or more years of professional experience
Good working knowledge of medical terminology
Computer proficiency, including with Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Master's degree in a health care related field
Previous Durable Medical Equipment accounts receivable experience
Must comply with all Occupational Health Services requirements including compliance with annual flu vaccination program.
