Server Side Print Management – SASS is currently using VPSX, an LRS product, as the solution for server side printing. VPSX provides our customers a single point of control to manage print from any system and application across the Johns Hopkins Enterprise. It is a scalable and robust centralized output manager that provides seamless flow of data to printer devices. This solution allows multiple systems and applications to share common printers both local to the customer and to remote office locations. Customers currently supported: Pharmacy, Pathology, Keane, EPIC, ISIS, IDX, and SAP.
Workload Automation – The Johns Hopkins Enterprise uses two industry-leading job management systems that support enterprise-wide mission-critical applications (successor based) delivering event-driven scheduling, centralized real-time monitoring and programmable error recovery; Unicenter AutoSys Job Management for Open Systems (Windows/Midrange). Our goal is to provide the customer a single point of control to manage job schedules across the Johns Hopkins Enterprise. With the use of CA’s Unicenter Workload Control Center, we provide our customers the ability to manage and view their schedules across the Enterprise from a single point and in a variety of views. Customers currently supported: SAP, ISIS, CPA, and EPIC.
Secure File Transfer – MoveIT-DMZ is a software solution that provides a mechanism to securely transfer data between external entities and internally networked Johns Hopkins departments. Sensitive data is transferred over secure connections to the DMZ Server (JHSFTP01). MoveIT-DMZ incorporates a powerful module (MoveIT Central) which allows customized scripts to run on the DMZ Server and automate data transfer from within MoveIT-DMZ to a designated location safely behind the Hopkins Firewall. Our goal is to provide the customer a single point of control to transfer files using SFTP processes across the Johns Hopkins Enterprise. With the use of MoveIT-DMZ, we provide our customers the ability to safely and securely distribute sensitive information across the Enterprise from a single point.
RightFax is Johns Hopkins’ standard secure electronic faxing system. It integrates with business applications to maximize employee productivity, improve information security, and decrease paper-related costs and security risks associated with stand-alone fax machines. The RightFax system sends and receives almost 1.5 million fax pages every month. There are estimated 400 fax numbers and 4000 customers who have switched from paper fax machines to electronic faxing. The RightFax system is integrated with Epic and the Pathology systems, sending over 725,000 faxes per month. Our customers are from several different locations; East Baltimore, Homewood, Bayview, Sibley, Howard Co, Mt. Washington, and Keswick. RightFax customers are from a variety of departments including financial, academic, HR and all aspects of clinical departments.
Clinical Data Warehousing - SASS supports the Epic Clarity Environment. This includes support for the Epic Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) Process, the Epic Crystal Integration (ECi) Process, and the Business Objects Epic (BOE) Environment. The ETL process is run each night and loads data from Epic into the Clarity Database. The process is monitored closely, and any issues that may arise are alerted to our on call who will resolve the issues in a timely manner. This ensures the accuracy of the data between Epic and the Clarity database. The ECi process is responsible for scheduling reports from Hyperspace as a batch request. This batch will move the report into BOE for processing. Once processed the report is then available for the end customer to view from Hyperspace.
Application Implementation and Data Migration Support – SASS supports the EPIC Hyperspace application, Data Courier. Data Courier is the process of moving static EPIC build data from one EPIC environment to another. This provides coordinated module transfers from quality assurance test areas to production environments as requested through the change control process. SASS also coordinates product installs/upgrades with the technical and application support teams providing project management and technical resources.
SQL Database Administration – SASS provides SQL database administration services for application teams in need of a SQL DBA. A couple of our current customers include OnBase, Clarity (EPIC), HDM/3M and School of Medicine.
