Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Departmental Administrator the incumbent will provide support relative to the Institute's operational activities. Responsible for coordinating with researchers and administrators in the preparation and implementation of documentation for compliance bodies including IACUC and Environmental Health and Safety.
A central feature of this position includes the following responsibilities: 1. Filing amendments and modifications of all protocols, liaison with IACUC, ICM, outside offices to ensure timely filing of annual renewals including documentation of number of animals and number to be required. 2. Monitoring of lab health and safety compliance, correcting deficiencies, checking records and documentation and facilitating preparation of documentation. 3. Coordination of animal shipping, importation, exportation and transfer paperwork 4. Training of new faculty in proper research compliance. 5. Be responsible for instrumentation in the Taub Institute and keeping instruments - centrifuges, microscopes, thermocyclers etc. in good repair. Liaison person with vendors and repair people. 6. Liaison with facilities department on issues a repairs and modifications. 7. Ability to assist Taub Administration in purchasing and grant management a critical times. Perform other duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Masters preferred with minimum of 3 years experience as a laboratory technician or research associate, preferably at CUMC.
