This position is responsible for overseeing the plant's electrical equipment, including heating and air conditioning at multiple facilities. This individual directs the activities and duties of electricians, assigns tasks, trains, schedules, plans, consults and authorizes procedures to be followed. This individual in this position will be called on to oversee electrical repairs of varying complexity.
Maintains a program of repair and preventive maintenance for electrical equipment, buildings and facilities owned by the NTMWD.
Coordinates with other departments, NTMWD inspectors and contractors on project repairs and modifications.
Analyzes work orders and problems, estimates job requirements, authorizes corrective action, materials and labor.
Oversees that electrical personnel operate NTMWD tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe manner and/or within the manufacturer's guidelines for proper usage and/or within the policy and procedures of the NTMWD.
Responsible for the safety of all subordinate employees.
Documents and records needed data and information.
Completes project and NTMWD forms accurately and in a timely manner.
Inspects subordinates' work, assists subordinates as needed and leads work on complicated jobs as required.
Directly supervises a group of Electricians and Maintenance Shop Assistants to include hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluation.
Knowledge of the installation, maintenance and safe operation of electrical equipment and current electrical construction codes, practices and standards.
Knowledge of safety pertaining to electrical distribution systems and equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematic drawings and one-line drawings.
Thorough understanding of electrical theory and practices.
Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials pertaining to electrical maintenance.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
Master Electrician Certification.
Five years of experience, two-year’s supervisory experience.
