Serve on the PGE Safety& Health team in the capacities of an entry level industrial hygienist reporting directly to PGE’s Industrial Hygienist. Engage team members, management and the workforce to drive for continuous improvement in workplace safety and health by participating in industrial hygiene initiatives, coordinating safety and health programs and implementing industry best practices across PGE. Be a passionate champion for safety and health. Assist in creating and maintaining industrial hygiene programs.
Work with individual PGE work groups to recognize and evaluate hazards in the workplace related to physical, chemical and biological agents
Recommend corrective and preventive actions and work with individual PGE work groups to implement effective solutions to control exposure to safety and health hazards
Fulfill industrial hygiene requirements that comply with Oregon and Washington - OSHA regulations
Implement industrial hygiene initiatives and monitor their progress across the enterprise.
Work with other members of the PGE Safety team to monitor legislation that may impact existing operations with respect to industrial hygiene practices.
Coordinate policies, goals, and objectives to ensure industrial hygiene program(s) effectiveness.
Contribute to effective presentations to management of safety results and significant changes which affect operating decisions, may require capital expenditures and/or require management leadership commitment. Ensure that management reports and data are developed which communicate leading indicators and results.
Assists in ensuring the effectiveness of safety and industrial hygiene practices, safety training, personal protective equipment and other related safety initiatives; analyze safety trends; propose recommendations/corrective actions.
