The Department of Built Environment at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of Construction Sciences and Management starting in August, 2017. The appointment is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level. An appointment at a higher rank may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. In particular the Department is seeking qualified candidates who can develop a collaborative and innovative research program in one of the following areas: construction estimating, structural systems, construction materials, construction management, environmental issues in CM. The program should align with the Department and the College's interest in Applied Science and Technology.
The hired faculty is expected to show commitment to teaching and research excellence. She/he is expected to teach Construction Management courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in Construction Science. Mentoring undergraduate research students is also expected as Construction Management majors in the department follow a curriculum where students are encouraged to be involved in research. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics and other technology areas is expected. Service to the department, college and university is also a requirement for the position.

The Department of Built Environment enrolls over 200 undergraduate and graduate majors. The Department offers three degree programs: a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety and Geomatics. The Construction Management program is accredited by ACCE and ATMAE. EHS is accredited by ATMAE and Geomatics is pending accreditation by ABET. In addition, the Department is involved in the planning for a Ph.D. in Applied Science and Technology.

Post-doctoral experience; demonstrated record of independent research and publishing. Approved as Assistant Professor.
