Term Instructor/Assistant Professor of Business – Business and Society/Global Environment of Business

The George Mason University School of Business seeks applicants for a Term Instructor/Assistant Professor of Business (nine-month, one-year renewable position) with a specialization in teaching multidisciplinary topics (i.e., "Business and Society" and "Global Environment of Business" courses) to begin August 2017. There may be a possibility for multiple hires from this posting. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The position primarily involves teaching multidisciplinary foundation courses in the Business School. "Business and Society" is offered to both multilingual students who come to the university through the INTO Mason Pathways program and undergraduates who enter the university through traditional channels. Pathways students will take a companion language support class while taking this course, and this position requires substantial coordination and communication with the instructor of that companion course. These courses will develop students' critical thinking and writing skills while analyzing the role of business in American society ("Business and Society") and exploring the changing global landscape in which businesses operate ("Global Environment of Business"). The teaching load for this position will be 4:4 with service to the area, school and university.
- Master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in business or a related field;
- Strong intercultural communication and collaborative teaching skills, and experience teaching multilingual students in the U.S. or abroad; and
- Good citizenship is important as is the ability to work well with colleagues.
