The Department of Radiology is searching for a full time Research Program Coordinator. The Research Study Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing the daily workflow of participant research biopsies as part of their enrollment within clinical trials of the Johns Hopkins Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC). They will work out of the Image Response Assessment Team (IRAT) Core lab of the SKCCC. This position will work closely with a Research Nurse and the Manager of the IRAT lab.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The research study coordinator will be responsible for familiarizing themselves with the trial-specific biopsy protocol, accompany clinical trial participants through their biopsy procedures, be present during the procedure to provide guidance to the biopsy physician to guarantee correct tissue specimens are acquired to satisfy the trial requirements, and retrieve said samples for further processing and/or shipping to other internal or external tissue processing facilities.
In addition, the coordinator will work in coordination with the lab Research Nurse to developing the trial specific guidelines with Research Nurse. They will also be responsible for working with the lead trial Study Coordinator to guarantee that appropriate specimen management supplies and shipping materials are in stock and available. They will also be responsible for the oversight of data collection, database entry and accurate record keeping of study related information.
Coordinates day-to-day tasks related to the lab's core services. Ensure that research protocols are carried out correctly, including all documentation, administrative, and regulatory issues. Works with others in a research team environment.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline and some related experience required. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Clinical research experience is preferred, including experience with specimen banking.
Experience with computers including spreadsheets, word processing and PowerPoint is also required.
Strong organizational skills needed.
