The Employee Health department with Christiana Care Health System is a thriving Nurse run practice with a Director who is also a Nurse Practitioner. The Employee Health Services team includes 4 staff Nurse Practitioners, a Registered Nurse, 2 Medical assistants, front desk clerk, workers compensation specialist, staff assistant and IT systems coordinator. Employee health services also serves as the injury clinic for Christiana Care Health System (CCHS)employees serving 11,000 employees from 2 campuses. Our Monthly visits range from 900-1200 encounters with peak volumes during Influenza vaccination periods.
The Employee Health Services department with Christiana Care Health System is currently seeking a Registered Nurse. In this position you will assume responsibility and accountability for the care you provide to employees, within employee health services, abiding to the protocol and guidelines set forth by CCHS employee health services and the Delaware state board of nursing. Other job responsibilities include:
Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice in assessment of work injuries, vaccinations and infection control.
Knowledge of reporting requirements for the Centers for disease control, Delaware division of public Understanding of regulations that inform occupational health and employee health practice (OSHA, CDC DPH, joint commission CMS)
Perform and document assessment of patients within the employee health setting according to established standards. Assesses the need for referrals to other members in the health care team.
Perform pre-employment screening for new applicants.
Review all required lab results prior to recommending new applicant for hiring. Including but not limited to UDS and TB testing.
Identify actual and potential problems for which the patient is at risk and report finding to EHS nurse practitioner.
Requirements: BSN required or Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience. At least three years of nursing experience in Med/Surg, Emergency Department or Outpatient setting required. Previous experience in Occupational Health preferred. Occupational Health certification preferred.
