The Johns Hopkins University, through a cooperative agreement with the USDA, will: 1) fund, support and evaluate innovative projects designed to improve participation and retention of children in the federally funded Special Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); and 2) provide evaluation technical assistance to other WIC retention projects throughout the Country. The Sr. Research Program Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all activities of the project.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the day to day activities of the Project including: developing, implementing, and managing all Project protocols; establishing and coordinating all communication processes; organizing and leading Project meetings; organizing and leading all project trainings and events; supervising the preparation of program and event materials; being the point of contact for the Program Advisory Board and other professional partners; being the point of contact for both funded projects and technical assistance projects; developing and implementing the documentation and tracking protocol of all project activities; monitoring multiple funded projects to ensure progress and project fidelity; working with other Project staff to develop the evaluation protocol and data analysis plan, and carry out data analysis; working with other project staff to provide technical assistance to all funded projects; drafting reports to be submitted to funder and other relevant audiences; and presenting project information and results to multiple audiences.
The Sr. Research Program Manager will be required to attend meetings and off-site visits throughout the country. Some visits may require overnight lodging. Participation in events and activities may require working beyond the normal working hours.
Master's degree or PhD in related discipline. 8 years related experience including significant experience in field conducting large research projects.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Implementing and managing large scale collaborative research projects
Managing grant funded research
Developing and implementing communication networks
Manipulating administrative data bases (strongly preferred WIC administrative data base)
Microsoft applications for production of documents, spreadsheets, tables, and slides
Working with low income populations (preferably WIC participants)
Drafting project reports for multiple audiences
Research methodology, protocols and evaluation design
WIC Program operations
Web-based communication and training
Independent problem solving, judgement, and prioritization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Exceptional organizational skills
