Under the direction of the Principal Investigators and Project Administrator, the incumbent will assist in the coordination of activities that support the overall work of and a specific research study at the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains knowledge of the study protocol
Assists in the daily operations of the recruitment and telephone interview team under the direction of the Research Project Administrator
May assist in the development of toolkits, flyers, letters and other materials for dissemination
Assists in the development of reports and manuscripts, including tables and charts
May perform literature reviews
Assists in the coordination and participates in study meetings, including the preparation of agendas and taking of detailed meeting minutes
Assists with Center communication and program materials dissemination
Assists in the maintenance of project databases.
Performs data entry
Runs routine and ad hoc reports from research database. Perform data collection for study and develop data reports to share with PI.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Some related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Prior research or project implementation experience. Experience working in clinical or academic settings and/or with providers and clinical staff. Experience in database operations.

Must be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.
Must have the ability to work well and communicate effectively with others.
Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, be able to work independently and as part of a team, initiative, strong leadership skills, and an ability to work with a team of researchers and with diverse subject populations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of PC operations and software applications such as MS Windows, Excel, Word, and Access required. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Must have excellent time management skills.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
