To coordinate and administer all functions related to payroll for faculty, fellows, residents, staff and JHU undergrad and grad students. Serves as the primary contact for the department's recruitment efforts as well as the SOM HR office, central payroll and student payroll. Assist with various payroll matters. Works closely with the finance staff to resolve issues.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Actively manage Neuros recruitment efforts. This includes working with faculty and hiring manager with job descriptions and posting to ensure all position are posted in a timely manner. Must work very closely with central HR recruiters to ensure timely hiring of new staff and transfers.
Actively manage the payroll function for the JHU Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery and JHH Department of Neurosciences.
Serve as the primary resource with regard to payroll issues and the consistent interpretation of policies and procedures for both Hospital and University
Responsible for accurate preparation and verification of payroll entries. Ensure new hires and terminations are processed timely and in compliance with the JHU audit requirements
Responsible for timely and accurate submission of JHH payroll
Develop and generate reports to analyze personnel information
Process all support staff annual evaluations and salary increase in compliance with standards.
Assist with the distribution of FML provisional notification and associated paperwork as needed. Perform associated payroll transactions.
Maintain personnel files. Selects and implements improvements in workflow procedures. Ensures confidentiality of information and compliance with University and JCAHO requirements.
Maintain payroll/HR database for Administration, which includes data entry, tracking and reporting.
Serve as departmental representative at various HR meetings related to personnel and payroll issues.
Monthly reconciliation and analysis of the department's overpayments.
Resolve payroll problems with employees.
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
High School Diploma with three years office related experience.
Preferred qualfiications: Some expereince in a similiar HR role.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Strong customer service skills required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organization and telephone skills. Proficient in personal computer skills. Ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment. Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information. Maintains a positive attitude, enthusiastic image and shows respect when dealing with clients, customer and co-workers.
