The Department of Radiology is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support the department's Clinical Trials group in the managing data from a large profile of complex clinical trials. The individual will work closely with other research team members to facilitate the initiation of new trials and ongoing support for existing trials. This individual will play a lead role in developing a QA system and in overseeing sponsor monitoring visits.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Participate in the day to day data management of new and existing studies.
Assist in the development of a QA system to ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of collected study data.
Assist in improving and maintaining work flow as it pertains to implementing and managing clinical trials.
Prepare for and help manage monitoring site visits: ensuring that study data is complete and well organized.
Play a lead role in organizing and participating in Site Initiation Visits
Participate in preparation for internal and external study audits.
Support the design of a comprehensive data entry system for all clinical trials in the department of radiation oncology.
Assist in the coordination of multi-site studies and studies that involve working with other Departments and Divisions.
Assist in the training of Research Coordinators.
Assist in the supervision of Research Coordinators as needed.
Compile clinical data, and conduct initial data analysis for use in presentations and publications.
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
3 years related experience.
Additional education (Master's level) may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula: 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *
Master's Degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Professional experience in data management, and familiarity with clinical trials.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as STATA and electronic health records systems is preferred.
Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
Ability to work well with others both internally and externally.
Detailed oriented and organized.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
May oversee the work of Research Coordinators upon request of Sr. Clinical Research Program Manager.
