Environmental Project Manager is responsible for efficiently managing environmental projects relating to hydrogeology, environmental monitoring, deep well injection, industrial supply well systems, air quality, ash management, mitigation, and other areas relating to solid waste management facilities. Duties may include coordinating and acting as liaison between various Authority departments, Regulatory Agencies, Consultants, Contractors, and Sub-contractors in order to expedite the timely planning, design, data collection and completion of Authority environmental projects. Further responsibilities include performing various related contract administration activities, preparing reports, reviewing data, and performing field inspections on various environmental projects.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Engineering (preferably environmental or civil), Biology, Chemistry, and/or Geology. At least five (5) years in Project Management or a combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or a Professional Geologist (P.G.) in the State of Florida is required for this position.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred. If the applicant is not PMP certified, he/she must be able to obtain PMP certification within 1 year of hire date.
Florida Operator’s License with clean driving record that meets policy as established by the Office of Risk Management.
